I Am Just an Instrument

by

Alice C. Bateman

I am just an instrument

That His Great Will commands

Each thing I appear to do

Is guided by His Hands

Even as I write this

He makes my pen to speak

When I think about His Home

It makes my mind go weak

We cannot see His purpose

As we live life day to day

But when we need to seek His Help

We simply have to pray

Dear God, let me live my life

As fully as I can

Let me help contribute to

The Brotherhood of Man

And if I should offend You

As we both know that I might

Help me find my way back

Into Your Gracious Light

And for my past sins, please Dear God

Forgive me if You can

All I really want to do

Is help my fellow man

I am just an instrument

That His Great Will commands

Each thing I appear to do

Is guided by His Hands
