In Her Terror

by

Alice C. Bateman

Preface

At the end of the Second World War, the young Kurt Heinrich, the villain of this novel, was trained to be an undercover agent for the Nazi Party.

IN HER TERROR gives us a look into what the author imagines the Party may have been doing in Toronto in the year 1999. The story is so filled with true to life details that the prospect leaves the reader chilled, wondering if this could be a real possibility in our world.

The title refers to the feelings experienced by Anya, the female protagonist, upon awakening from terrifying dreams. Dreams that are in fact segments from her own early childhood, the memories of which were removed from her mind by the evil procedures of the Nazi Party. Anya is the wife, and also the intended victim, of the villain.

Two young women meet an early death directly due to the activities of the loathsome Kurt Heinrich. Will the elusive and seemingly invulnerable Mr. Heinrich finally be held accountable for his actions? If so, who will be responsible?

Many other characters enhance the plot, including Sheldon Gardner, a self-professed Independent Investigator. A solitary widower, he makes it his mission to investigate mysteries that strike a particular chord in his being. Through his involvement in this case, Sheldon manages to work through his own personal angst, to find himself and much more.

Be warned: this is an intense novel, not for the faint of heart.

IN HER TERROR. A modern day mystery, with an historical twist. Or is the Nazi Party history after all? A gripping read from the first page to the last.
