One Whole Soul

by

Alice C. Bateman

When we hug, you step inside me
I am much more than myself
When we hug, your soul invades me
We entwine in our embrace

When we kiss, I'm set on fire
I no longer have control
When we kiss, we come alive
We are sharing one whole soul

Then the passion overtakes us
And the pounding of our hearts
Seems as loud as any ocean
It's as if we'll never part

And then real life overtakes us
And we go our separate ways
To sit and wonder, by myself
Will we ever share our days

Will this always be a secret
Is there anything to tell
Are you here, deep in this with me
Was it only me who fell
