Secret Manoeuvres

by

Alice C. Bateman

Altered, altered

Coming down

From a journey

Round and round

In and through

And up and out

Inner headspace

Constant Thought

Artists, poets, lovers, movers

All must make secret manoeuvres

Just to hide the fact they like

To free their thoughts

To take a hike

Through mind’s pathways, seldom stepped

Their secret dreams and visions kept

Until unlocked, allowed to wander

Through hallowed halls and sacred wonder
