There Is Hope

by

Alice C. Bateman

One of the hurt walking wounded
No scars to show on the outside
The heartbreaks and woundings glossed over
With an ardent display of mere pride

Don't fall now, don't show any weakness
The sharks will attack if you do
Stay strong and don't let them get you
They're just waiting to gobble and chew

If you give in to the weakness
If you give in to the fear
The ghosts and the goblins will get you
They suckle on each precious tear

Be strong, reach for God when you need Him
Don't wait, let yourself go downhill
Squash those thoughts from the destructive demons
If you let them take over, they will

When you think suicide looks so friendly
And you've come to the end of your rope
Tie a knot and hold on
Call for God and be strong
Always,
With Him
There is Hope
