Safe for the Moment (Part 1)

by

Alice Sarmiento

I see their staring eyes,
Oh those horrible eyes.
The eyes that look inside,
And see all my lies.

They see me deep within
And they know where I've been
And they go deeper, deeper, deeper,
Inside of my skin.

They see all my lies,
And they see all my fears,
All the horrible things
That'll bring me down to tears.

I am lost,
A wandering soul,
I am only bits and pieces,
I never was a whole.

I'm looking around,
To see where my life went.
No one's looking now,
I'm safe for the moment.

I'll tell people things,
But not know what they meant.
People's heads are turning,
Still I'm safe for the moment.
