Safe for the Moment (Part 2)

by

Alice Sarmiento

When people look at me,
I just want to scream,
I just want to wake up,
And get out of that dream.

But the damn thing is real,
And I'm left to feel,
All those horrible things,
That'll never let me heal.

I am scarred for life,
And I never will return,
To the time I liked life,
Those memories torn and burned.

I am lost,
A wandering soul,
I am only bits and pieces,
I never was a whole.

I am looking around,
To see where my life went,
No one's looking now,
I'm !@#$%^ safe for the moment.

I'll tell people things,
But never know what they meant,
People's heads are turning,
But still I'm safe for the moment.
