Wishful Thinking

not long of this world
we strive to attain bliss
hopes and dreams
our foundation we build upon
ever reaching to fulfill goals
hit by life's ever-present storms
sadly we crumble
living among the ruins
meekly accepting
blaiming the fates
envy eating at our mortar
doubt eroding our hard work
change our way of thinking
and watch as grand homes of hope
and palaces of dreams
become common place
