Scribble Girl

by

Caterina Kenworthy

Scribble Girl
Painted arms
embroidered hands
Crunchy hair
elongated eyelashes
Batting like skeletal wings
A cage for her untamed eyes

Her wrists are hidden
Behind beads and thread
A medley of color
A braided rainbow

Her fingernails are painted
Her hands are on fire
They are glossy
They shine

Her skin is tattooed
Stars and hearts
Spirals and skulls
Bows and dice
No inch of her is left without illustrated

She has popcorn lips
And a laugh like seltzer
Teeth like sugar cubes
A textbook smile

Her feet are dainty
In a silver encasement
Fringed houses and wrapped in ivy
Her aura undulates

She glows like a flame
The shades of her slender body
Swaying like the sea, her hips like candy
Strands of color flow through her hair
A river of paint
gushing with her every move
Shifting and changing
