Broken Baby

by

Christine Williams

A broken soul, a broken heart.
An innocent life, torn apart.
Broken bones, broken ground,
A broken dream pulled too far down.
A cut is made with broken skin,
A torn peel to hold blood in.
A life spared, takes another,
A deadly consequence of all others.
One door opens as the other shuts,
I watch the bleeding of my cuts.
The soul is gone, but the life still lives,
The heart is emptied as it gives.
The broken body lies on cracks,
Wishing it could have life back.
Its broken bones hold it down,
Its broken bones make it frown.
Broken Baby, Broken Child.
Never lived a life so wild.
And if baby dies today,
Baby knows she got her way...
