I Wish I Didn't Miss You -
Ode to Kenyatta Brown, My Son's Father

by

Cinnamon Brown

  So much time apart
Yet even still
you're in my heart

All this time you have been away
If only I had decided to stay

I remember the first time we kissed
I think about it whenever your presence is missed

You were the second man I ever loved
Second only to God above

I really didn't want to separate
It was not up to me but decided by fate

The day I gave birth to your first born
was the day I realized my heart was torn

I realize us being together is not an issue
I just wish I didn't miss you
