If Only

by

Crystal Riley

If only you'd loved me,
And knew when to care,
I wouldn't be lying here,
With an ice cold dead stare,
I wouldn't have done,
The thing I detest,
I wouldn't have died,
And leave my heart at life's rest.
I wouldn't have hurt,
The best thing in the world,
I wouldn't have done away with,
This growing young girl,
But because of your hate,
You now plainly see,
That it could've all been prevented,
If only you'd loved me.
