Words of Advice

by

D. A. Williams

Some words of advice
In these tumultuous times
Sometimes life's obstacles
Have no reasons; no rhymes
Into every man's life
Walk some tough decisions
A few days in a cell
May help clear your vision
Open your eyes
To what you truly have
A son and two daughters
And they need you here as a dad
The family has pulled together
As one cohesive unit
To help out while you get clean
So step up and do it
I'm really upset right now
But we'll discuss that
When you come back around
For I am just not the type
To kick you while you are down
So get up on your feet
The first steps you take alone
And have caution in the paths you choose
For not all roads bring you home
