I Missed You

by

Dave Frazier

As she reached for my hand,

The tears began to come.

And a tremble made its way,

Across my parted lips.

And the only thing I could say,

Was,

I missed you

So quick was I to surrender,

To the emotion of that time.

And away I had to run,

Into the night as dark as ink.

But I remembered sunny days,

When you wore a smile always.

And my world was alive and bright,

Your hand so warm to hold.

And the black of ink began to fade,

Into the brightest colors.

My heart began to beat once more,

Misty curtain began to part.

And the only thing I could say,

Was,

I love you
