The Dancer

by

Dave Frazier

Prancing merry-maker,

Prance me a dance!

Twirling and swirling,

I'm in a trance.

Your antics are funny,

They make me smile.

Come, if it pleases,

Entertain me awhile!

I throw you a copper,

Or p'raps silver it be;

Your prancing and twirling,

It pleases me.

Pause for a sip,

Of the sweetest wine.

Then continue your dance.

Your steps are divine!

Your gift is your dancing,

Your gift is so fine.

Your dance that you give me,

Come make it mine!
