O, my Lovely Child

by

Ehsan Elahi Ehsan

The crowded rooms are searching for life,
The freshness of thoughtful faces has vanished away,
Fair nature’s book is wide open, but there is
Nobody to read. The memories of beauty and grace,
Have vacated the mind of man. If there is something
To make me realize of myself, that is your lovely
Face, your hopeful eyes, your embracing smile.
And whenever I walk upon this weary path,
O, my lovely child, it is your voice that still
Echoes in my mind and says, that this life which
Looks so waste and barren, is still to bloom
With passionate love, where beauty, affection,
Grace and love will gush out with a sudden force,
And make this land, a paradise on earth.
