The Human Heart Has Become Deaf

by

Ehsan Elahi Ehsan

The open sea is listening
To the howling air but the human heart
Has become deaf
To the cries that millions of people
Are making on their miseries
Caused by their fellow beings.
Man who used to be
The source of all high inspirations
Has been made servitude
Of Machines and is
Weighed on the scale of material gains
Thousand of hungry people
Women and children
Are killed with fifty thousand pound
Cluster bombs every year
On the name of peace.
It is a dilemma of the modern world
That the killers are the flag holders
Of Humanity and tranquility
Man is being made prosperous
By the death and destruction.
