The Mists and Vapours Would Soon Clear

by

Ehsan Elahi Ehsan

Let us sit by the fireside and look

Why these mists and vapours are there

Why we can’t find the crystal beauty

Out in the open air.

Perhaps the mists and vapours

May not allow us to enjoy the greenery of fields

Where we used to play till late evening

But let us hope the soon the sun would throw

Its glorious beams to this land and make us feel

That all these mists and all these vapours

Were nothing but only a trial of our patience

Let us hope that beauty of the earth

Would soon be restored to man and

All these mists and all these vapours

Would soon clear and make us see the light

With smiles in eyes and joys on lips.
