The Farmer's Fat Fish

by

Jack Mann

A children’s poem

A forlorn farmer found five fat fish
Swimming in a pond on his land
So the forlorn farmer fished for the fat fish
And put them all in a pan

The forlorn farmer fried the fat fish
And wrapped them up so small
He found five fine firemen fighting a fire
And shared his five fat fish with them all.

Now the five fine firemen were full of fat fish
And as happy as they could be
Because they could fight fires for a fortnight
And not be hungry you see.

Now the forlorn farmer finally found his former failing
And corrected it with a good deed
So the forlorn farmer was no longer forlorn
By helping the five fine full firemen in need!
