Losing Touch

by

Jennifer Hansen

You made me laugh
You made me cry
You were not there to say goodbye.

Through the wind
Through the rain
I know you are out there and I feel the pain.

I never thought this would end
You are my friend.

My heart felt light
My heart felt free
Now you just want me to let you be.

I close my eyes, I will not cry
But inside I would like to die
As I sit and look at the sky
My only thought was the reason why
But again I will not cry.

I reach out my hand to feel for you
You are not there, I am such a fool
I close my eyes and feel you near
But as I open them, all I feel is fear.

You gave me your heart
I wore it on a chain
It falls to my feet and once again all I know is pain.

But from this day forward until the end
Only one thought remains
You are a true friend.
