Eve

by

Jessica Dawn Clingempeel

So many lives I have killed
Sometimes I wonder could this be real.
I have taught my men to be strong
But they're not going to be with me for long.
Every time I think about my past
I wonder how long will my life last.
Eli be with me and help me be wise
My past was all just a bunch of lies.
I can't help but to look back
And see all the courage I did not lack.
For if I could turn this world back in time
Maybe my love would still be mine.
Whatever happened to my mother that day
I was a young one so I can not say.
I hurt the ones so dear to me
If only I could let some of them see.
The old me is lying dead in Rome
For now the real Eve is returning to home.
