Statutory RAPE

by

Joe Leeta Outlaw

I tried to forget
never to regret
That night I let
a stranger steal my heart
A man I barely knew
took from me
what I can't get back
his touch
his breath
his words
I will never forget
I will never regret
For I will always
love him
A call three months later
A memory brought back up
A wish never granted
A hope lost
That night so long ago
That night in early July
I will never forget
I will never regret
A touch always missed
A name I can't forget
A man can take so much
I will never forget
I will never regret
I gave my life
In one night
The fireworks
The lights
It was all there that night
The night I gave myself
For a strangers love
A man took my life
Now I must live in strife
No one to tell
No one to share
A fear so strong
Six words
Nothing will EVER come of this
He broke my heart
I will never forget
But always REGRET
