The Little Cross

The little cross on my breast;
A shining, silver sign – sword
My strength and my amulet,
A safe way, the last resort.

The little cross on my breast;
My own guardian angel,
A reply to my request,
A silent, peaceful temple.

A little tool I wear;
A talisman on my neck,
A cure for despair,
The proper choice, the right track.

The little cross on my breast;
My weapon against evil,
My silent shout – my protest
Against the bad, the hateful…
