Peace

by

Jonathan Isenor

Sitting in the shadows

Up above everyone else

As they pass by beneath me

I sit at the top of a hill in solitude

Enjoying the many wonders of nature

The birds are chirping

There’s water rushing in a small stream

A light breeze occasionally sweeps past my skin

Once in a while a person passes by

Up here though my mind is clear

It’s no longer clouded by the perceptions of others

Nor my own personal problems

When I come up here it’s all gone

I forget about everything else

I have found some peace for myself

In this chaotic world.
