Paradise lost

by

Keith Robson

Crystallised teardrops
on parchment of cream,
a poignant reminder
of love's final dream.

Rose petals scattered
on bedsheets of white,
two hearts that are bleeding
and lost in the night.

Burgundy curtains
are hiding the day,
an empty cocoon
for where lovers once lay.

A wine glass that once
held a romantic toast,
now dry and forgotten
like love's tragic ghost.

The silence of memories
crying in pain,
two souls who remember
where love had once lain..
