You Said You Cared

by

Kelly Gordon

You said you cared
You never even dared
To try to help
With what I felt

Sometimes I would cry
Because I wanted to die
And I'm not sure why
I tried to be happy
But it was like living a lie

I think you knew
What was wrong with me
You didn't know what to do
You just didn't want to see

At nights I laid awake in bed
Unable to get the thoughts out of my head
Each day I would dread
The sadness that was ahead.
