Clear Starry Sky

by

Kimberly Osburn

Are the everchanging clouds that pass overhead the same ones he has seen? They carry the rain from this lake of glass where I sit thinking of his smile.

As the sun sets in the distance I want my thoughts to travel to places that I've never been, and reach out to the one I'm thinking of as the stars begin to shine.

A clear starry sky and a full spring moon take me to a place, distant and long ago. This place is a feeling time and fate took away - the winds have brought it to me once more.

Is my soul mate seeing the same stars as I and feeling my thoughts on the breeze? Has the sun even set and brightened the stars that I'm hoping he will see?
