Bloodlust

by

Maggi Johnson

There is one thing that I desire,
A drug that takes my body higher.
Blood is the one thing that I need,
On it my my demons feed...
The demons that lie deep inside,
But through this bloodlust cannot hide.

Humans are good for nothing but this,
Their bloodshed is my sweet bliss.
A taste, a lick, a drop, or all,
To my lips may your life fall.
A glass of blood, a splash of wine,
On this meal shall I dine.

Crimson red on glistening silver,
A sight that would make another quiver.
Once a cut was all I'd need,
Now from gashes one must bleed.
Soon this thirst shall swallow me whole,
Heart, sanity, and tattered soul.

The world of darkness you so dread,
Is my light shaded a velvet red.
