Cold

by

Mandi Gommel

I call out to you and offer you my love
But as if in a bad dream you turn away
I try to hold you but you stand so cold
And you don't hear the words I say

You only think about how you feel
Why do you never think about me
I was the only one who ever loved you
But you want to run from what you need

Screaming at you only makes me more upset
I use my sleeves to wipe away my tears
There you sit crying for yourself
Because of immaturity and fear

Your heart has grown cold against me
And there is nothing more I can do
All my sadness proves your control over me
But my will proves me stronger than you
