Amber

by

Matthew Grey

You were an old friend that was made new
long have I waited to be alone with you
now we leave together on this path
both trying to escape this aftermath

we were rollen’ down the road
with no place in mind to go
feeling free in the summer night
together were feeling alive
the stars set the night sky aglow
down as I was you helped remind me that I was alive
You made me feel what I had lost in times before

I never thought I would find a love like this
I didn't know I would find heaven in your kiss
but your love is one like I have never known
you made my life something I was never shown

I promise you I will always be right by your side
I promise that my love will always abide
I thank you for showing me what joy really is
I thank you for being what I will always miss
