Drifting Away

by

Matthew Grey

Far away from what I know is real
Far away from anything I can feel
I am dancing on clouds in the sky
Never thought I could get this high

I am numb to the world that is around me
Looking down to a world once part of me
All I can feel is the air brushing across my face
Happiness is here far away from the other race

The melody of life is strumming in my mind
The melody is the only happiness to find
A song of life and of what I am to be
A song that opens eyes so they can see

Life spins round me like a merry go round
People going fast but getting nowhere
I wish they would stop and see what I found
If they ask I have plenty to share

Feeling so high I can escape this place
Feeling oh so fine in all my disgrace
Floating in the sky and drifting away
My head spinning round and round
Only if you could feel the solace I have found
