Social Anxiety and Restriction

by

Melissa Areland

I cannot live in the harsh light of day

I wish all the attention, stress of knowledge would go away

Perhaps I should disappear in this corner of night

To drift away from the other beings and remain out of sight

It is always easier to evaporate

Disassociate with the material of my body

Release myself from my form

And reconfigure on another side

Reinvent my person

Become what I am not
