Fear

by

Nancy Brar

I am fear,
A bitter taste on your tongue,
Lurking in shadows by street corners,
The yellow glinting from the tiger's eyes,
Reality ungrasping in itself,
Life, death, everything spinning fast out of control,
Cold shivers running down the spine,
The achiness of tears in the back of your throat,
The dark danger growing, stretching, filling,
Harsh whispers, glowing figures in the night,
Cowardice crawling inside your soul, taking over,
Red blood dribbling in rivers of itself,
An insane grin gleaming with malice,
Icy fingers gripping hard your shoulder,
I am fear...
