Time

by

Onyenuchie Ikpeka

You gag up all and trim all
down to dry, Time.
You trap down all and strip
us off to die, Time
You turn us round as if we are wrong,
with your fun that play foul on us, Time
You are the past, present and the future.
I can remember your past with it's pressure,
And the present here with it's prescient
But your future to some is abstract
Your only secret to strip us off
To lose the battle of life time.
Progress your programs to promote
Us from effect of the past time
Merge the present with the future
To naturalize us and immortalize
Your past time.
Please, fake us no more, and time us real
Just like you are, Time.
