Give a Gift

by

Parker Lykins

A gift I will treasure;
it brings me great pleasure.
But a gift for you
is better to do.

To see your face shine
sends chills through my spine.
Watching you jump for joy
over the smallest toy.

Carefully unwrapping
waiting and unknowing.
She stays cool and calm
as it lays on her palm.

Tears of joy run down
and hit her soft gown.
As she slips the ring on,
our long friendship will dawn.

Gifts bring feelings of love
pure and true as a dove.
Gifts are better to give
making life better to live.

Therefore, give a gift
and hopes you can lift.
Yes, give a gift today;
receive double in pay.
