A Poetic Nudge at “Voter Apathy”

“… If communism … is socialism …”building”…”
And no one cares enough … to Vote … “What is it we construct?”
Do we “Cross That Bridge” abetting?
And trust our fate to luck?

“… If communism … is socialism …”controlling” …”
And no one cares enough … to Vote … “What is it we stand to lose?”
Do we “Cross That Bridge” extolling:
“Hooray! We’ve lost our Right to choose?”

“… If communism … is socialism … “perfecting” …”
And no one cares enough … to Vote … “What is it we ordain?”
Do we “Cross That Bridge” defecting,
Looking for someone else to blame?

“… If communism … is socialism … “reigning” …”
And no one cares enough … to Vote … “What is left, then, to emote?”
Do we “Cross That Bridge” refraining:
“How I wish I’d cared enough to go and cast … my Vote!”
