On A Clear Winter Night

By

Rusty Broadspear

On a clear winter night,

Standing alone, atop a heather clad hillside,

I turn and turn,

And revel at the dance of the stars.

Clean biting air reddens my face.

Nature presents me with a perfumed bouquet,

As she rests in sleep,

Contemplating another day.

Such simple solitude.

How could something so magnificent

So utterly breathtaking

Be enhanced even further, deeper?

To share such a moment

Would make for flawless perfection.

A new outlook on wonder, with

Shared, tender, gentle, and warm affection.
