Sugar Coated Pear Drops

By

Rusty Broadspear

Like sugar coated pear drops
The notes scattered from the harp.
As, under the silken Moon
We danced alone
On the patio.
The backdrop of evergreens
Breathed gently
As if in rhythm
To the cascading strings.
We were close as we swayed
Merging hearts, minds and cells.
Hands moved independently
Lightly brushing
Touching
Resting.
Lovers in flames
Burning and swaying
Screaming passion but gentle
And warm.
As sugar coated pear drops
Floated to the ground
In harmonious accord.
