Guerrilla Tactic

by

Solomon Machardson

The burning charcoal is a warning

About its scorching heat;

But the dying ember, hidden by ashes,

Burns you without any warning.

Its tactic is like that of a scorpion

Which stings from its hiding place under a bark

Or that of a poisonous adder,

Which bites from under a tall tree!

Such types of guerrilla tactics,

Of attacks without warning

Of a wolf in sheep's clothing

Is the innermost depth of cowardice.
