Horse shoe nails are used to hold the glass in place while building the window. Notice the little hammer head I use instead of one with a handle just below and to the right of the green handles nippers or side cutters that are designed to cut lead. On one side of the cut you get a straight or an angle if needed and on the inside of the nipper you get a   > shape so 4 can be assembled to make a nice fit for soldering. This lead appears shiny because of the antimony that is added for extra strength.
