Just to Judge Ourselves

by

Uzma Sadaf

We try to judge ourselves every day
We deceive ourselves deliberately
Putting the arms around your neck
And saying how much do you love me
And your answer "Most of all"
I know it is not so, not at all
Yet just to encourage you
Just to say that I believe you
Then to sacrifice every thing on you
All the ambitions, all the inward treasures
Just to surrender
Just to deceive myself
Just to judge my own stamina
I believe all your stories
And take them to be true
Then to sacrifice the last happiness on you
Just to try myself
My inner desert becomes wet
The breaths begin to break
The smiles are over tired while reaching the lips
Your picture becomes dim in the moisture of the eyes
Then it vanishes
Then comes back again from the deep sea
And I die only to try myself
To try my love for you.
