The City of Sand

by

Uzma Sadaf

Today, a complete year has passed
And you are not with me
I feel nothing is with me
The world does not seem to be the world
The people do not look the people
Your would be perhaps the same
Your thoughts and your talks would be the same
Your accent would be the same
But
I am not the I
I have become mad
My eyes are vacant, they are staggering
The nights have become longer
I have not been the I
I have changed into a city of sand
A deserted place with the broken pieces
Of the mirrors of memories
This heart has changed into a ruin
Now who has the time to return
And light the candles on the deserted graves
Who will try to search me in the titles of death
Who will cross this desert
Who has the time
Yes
I have heard your world is very enlightened
It has become rich with fame
It is full of life
But
To what avail when
I have changed a lot.
